Hotel Reviews
"The accommodation was generally comfortable. The staff were generally helpful. But when the phone rang, it rang only 4 times before the operator gave up, so I did not have time to get to it and missed the call. Our biggest complaint is about the length of time it took to retrieve our car from the underground garage, after we had checked out. We had to wait for 'the concierge' to fetch it, and it was about 45 minutes before he became available, so that checkout took an hour. This disrupted our timetable. Surely he should have been fetching the car whilst we were checking out? The room service breakfast was fine. The smoked haddock was excellent. The fruit salad was okay, but would have benefited from a greater variety of fruit - the oranges and apples were a bit flavourless, and there were no berries. Re the restaurant: We ate there twice, first on our own on arrival, and on the second evening with guests. The (new) waiter was unfamiliar with the food, and unable to answer questions. The food on the first occasion was disappointing. The sea bass seemed all right, but what was described as 'mediterranean vegetables'turned out to be an anonymous, overcooked mush, tasting largely of tomato puree and oregano. The spinach was a bit gritty. Seemed overpriced for what it was, and a bit dubious. On the second evening it was better. The smoked haddock risotto was full of bones, but the smoked salmon was good and plentiful, though unimaginative in presentation and accompaniments. The steak was very good quality, and you can't go far wrong with that, though the chips were not as good as described. The lemon tart was very good, but we were disappointed that there was not much fruit and no sorbet. Generally I would say that the quality of the meat and fish was good, but the vegetables were poor."

"I would certainly return to this hotel and the cost of the accomodation was reasonable too. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to our friends."

"The hospitality offered was first class. The assistance was first class. The room was very spacious, clean and modern (a little bit of re-decorating is required). Facilities very adequate. Restaurant meal & staff very very good. Location ideal for our circumstances"
